Reference checking
Reference checking is a valuable part of the recruitment process to get a better understanding and an objective view of the candidate.
Reference checking – an important part of the process
Our niche is finding people who are dedicated to their work and have the potential to develop beyond their area of expertise. The people best placed to provide answers to these questions are the people candidates have reported to in previous jobs.
During a reference check, we conduct a short telephone interview to verify the candidate’s credentials, experience and skills and to obtain more detailed answers to complex questions. The goal is to confirm the information provided by the candidate in their job application or during the interviews. One key aspect is to give the referee the chance to give us a deeper understanding of the candidate’s range of abilities.
As this is not always easy to summarise or get a complete picture of, it is useful to discuss the question in more detail to ensure that valuable information is provided for the recruitment process.
